Abundance and Wealth–Instant Response

As you can tell, I was pretty frustrated yesterday when I wrote the post about things being ridiculous.

Today I received an email from a new friend, Brittney Poppano, who invited me to see a replay of a presentation she shared last night.  Her presentation put me in touch with a company that has a system for building an Internet Information Marketing business.  I’ve been involved with that since the 1980s, though haven’t made any money.

With this new organization, my entire financial situation can be turned around in less than a month, though it will take longer to build a good business.

I’m an Advanced Practitioner in the Law of Abundance-Wealth.  While my earlier post may not seem so, I’ve been working on myself for the past several months, replacing my dis-empowering habits of thought and action with empowering habits of thought and action.  This result is one of the indicators that things are working well.

This is Ridiculous!! Want to help?

This is ridiculous–and I’m not laughing!!  (See the YouTube video at this link.)

In 2001, after 9/11/2001, I made a decision to make a difference for kids in grades K-12.  I stopped being a full-time management consultant/organizational change consultant/instructional designer and became a classroom teacher, working with the English Language Learner population in public schools served in Illinois by the Kane County Regional Office of Education (ROE).

Prior to that time, while I was a performance coach for teachers in the Dade and Broward school systems in Florida while finishing my doctorate degree in Education from Florida International University in Miami, my primary focus was on working with adults.  I had been teaching thousands of adults (over 40 years) (I was a volunteer instructor and instructor-trainer for the American Red Cross in Health and Safety courses for 33 years.)  I was also a professional trainer and instructional designer in addition to being an organizational change management consultant.

I was aware of some of the challenges being experienced by K-12 schools when I went to get my doctorate and focused on adult education and human resource development because I saw there would be an ongoing need for adults to learn what they didn’t learn in school.  For my doctoral dissertation, working with teachers-in-training, I developed and tested a new theory of how we learn from experience.  I’ve used that learning since completing the doctorate in a variety of ways.

As everyone knows, the economy (and school budgets) started taking hits over the last several years.  In 2009, shortly after completing a post-doctoral Master of Arts in Teaching, I was laid off.  Since then I have been a substitute teacher because most schools can get two recent graduates for the salary the unions require for someone with a masters’ degree (districts don’t even have to pay for the doctorate or second masters).

Substitute teaching pays $12 per hour ($90 per day–with $78 showing up in the bank) or $45 for one-half day with less than that showing up in the bank.)  I love substitute teaching because I can make a difference for both students and teachers.

This summer I can’t find employment at the moment.  I can work with clients, do contract work at the local, state, and federal level, offer workshops on expanding memory, changing moods, Integrative Learning, and provide coaching for teachers, executives, organizations, and teams.  So far, no one is interested.

I’ve applied for lots of entry-level jobs and, when I made the mistake of telling the whole of my education, found myself not getting calls for interviews.  I was advised just to tell people I have an undergraduate degree–which I do.

I need to pay the rent and to set money aside for some bills and for the future.  I need to stay in the Chicagoland area because my Mom is 99 and I think it’s important to give her some quality time every evening to make sure she can eat and get her medicine and remember me tomorrow.

I have lots of websites which I have just upgraded, reducing some that produce no traffic.  These aren’t bringing in the money yet.

Yesterday I received an email from someone who wants to split a huge amount of money with me if I pretend to be someone’s long lost relative.  Yes, I need income right away–for next month’s rent, for example.  No, I don’t want to get involved with shady deals.

I’m writing this post to ask your your help–not with cash, with either clients or a job–at least for the summer.  Some of the ones I’ve applied for are “out of left field” and will still help pay the bills.

Keeping Facebook Up-to-Date

I have too many websites and will be winnowing them down.  My original goal, in addition to sharing and reaching out to multiple target groups, was to monetize the sites at least enough to pay for their maintenance and upkeep.  With 37, I don’t get to them fast enough to keep them interesting.

I’ve had to upgrade WordPress and plugins and themes on all of them and have taken the time to see how many have people signing-up.  I’ve already taken a few down that weren’t being used much.

As part of this system, each website has three components–a primary website (like this one), a mobile website (though I don’t have that for JoelMonty.info), and a website dedicated to Facebook–to be a Facebook Fan page.  This also means that I need to keep multiple Facebook pages up to date.  I am working on several, though a much more manageable number.

The idea was (and is) a good one–reach people wherever they are and however they connect.

Welcome to My Blog!

Joel-Montgomery-JoelMonty-small  Welcome to My Blog!

I’m glad you’re here.  Me, too.  My LinkedIn profile steers you to this blog, so here’s where I need to be writing.  For the past few years I’ve blogged a bit on several websites, in connection with the projects I’ve been focused on.  Starting in the summer of 2014, I’ll be focusing my energies on this blog and will provide links to the other websites as appropriate.

My LinkedIn profile can be found at http://linkedin.com/in/joelmonty/.  When you click on blog, it will bring you here.

This seems to be a good time for reflection, and for deciding what works and what doesn’t do what I want it to do.  I developed lots of websites, some of which get next to no traffic.  (Most of those will disappear soon.)

Come often.  I’ll be posting about a variety of topics.  I’m glad you found your way here today.

Best Regards,

Joel Montgomery (JoelMonty)
